**Grounds Maintenance - Summer Position**

**Term**:Seasonal April - September 2023

**Compensation**: $18/hour

**Responsibilities**:
**This position would be ideal for a university or college student coming from an agricultural / rural background.**

**What** **you** **bring** **to** **the** **role**:

- Enthusiasm for working outdoors
- Valid Driver's license - Must have reliable transportation
- Previous landscaping, horticultural, or nursery experience would be an asset
- Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
- Must be a motivated, high-energy, personable and a self-starter
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - CSA approved safety footwear and gloves

**Skills Required**:

- Team player with a positive attitude
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various landscape/construction practices

**Preferred to Have**:

- Experience operating heavy machinery (e.g., tractor),
- Experience operating woodworking tools (e.g., saws; drills)
- Experience operating yard care equipment (e.g., mowers, trimmers)

**Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities**:

- Able to work in all types of weather conditions
- Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling
- Physically fit; able to perform manual labour (e.g., lifting up to 50 lbs)
- Ability to work and operate in a safe manner in accordance with Health and Safety policies and procedures

**Job Type**: Seasonal
Contract length: 6 months

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift

Work Location: One location
