The day to day of this role involves maintaining a high profile within the golf club through mentoring and coaching the team, running an efficient successful service, maintaining cost control procedures while developing regulars and hosting the floor. Control responsibilities will include ordering, inventory, scheduling and training.

The Food & Beverage Manager reports to the General Manager and works closely with the Head Chef & Venue Coordinator.

- Annual salary range $55K-$65K commensurate with experience

**Role/Responsibilities**
- Set the atmosphere and tempo of the restaurants to promote a lively, energetic vibe, demonstrating a member/guest first attitude.
- Take an active role assisting service during all operating hours while having the ability to multitask at a high-level coordinating staff.
- Uphold the Nanaimo Golf Club’s commitment to quality in service with ongoing training of hourly staff.
- Co-ordinate and conduct pre-shift meetings.
- Maintain daily communication for food, wine, and beverage details as they relate to service.
- Develop and participate in a positive work environment, where staff development and good work are recognized while maintaining open communications between Management, Staff, FOH and BOH.
- Develop and maintain a positive experience with our membership and regular clientele.
- Survey the marketplace regularly for pricing, competition, and trends.
- Carry out policy changes, initiatives and systems as directed by the GM.
- Work closely with our Head Chef and Venue Coordinator.
- Achieve financial targets related to the F&B department, including labour, COG’s, and operational supplies budgets.

**Required Education, Skills, and Qualifications**
- Two years of management experience with scheduling abilities.
- Serving and bartending experience working in the restaurant industry.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, guest service, and oral/written communication skills
- Serving it Right and Food Safe level 1 certificates.
- The ability to train effectively and execute to deliver a great guest experience.
- A passion for food, beverage and all things related to the restaurant business.
- An ability to build and foster relationships.
- High attention to detail with the ability to multitask and delegate.
- Possess critical and strategic thinking skills.
- A true passion for perfecting guest experiences and people development.
- Previous management of a unionized workforce is an asset.
- Golf experience is an asset but not necessary.
- This position can be physically demanding at times, where you will be required to be on your feet for several hours, assist setting of events, and be able to lift and carry items up to 50lbs.
- Business professional grooming and attire is expected for this role.
- Consent to a Criminal Record Check.
- Have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license with clean Driver’s Abstract.
- Be willing to relocate to the Nanaimo Area
