**DESCRIPTION**

The Yard Foreman is responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of the yard and equipment. The Yard Foreman will play a crucial role in ensuring that the yard operations run smoothly by coordinating the flow of materials, equipment, and personnel. The Yard Foreman supports the execution of complex tasks in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining a collaborative and supportive environment for team members. This position will be based out of our Nisku office.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions. Stop work in the area of an identified health or safety problem until resolved.
- supervise and assist with the organization and maintenance of the yard, including the storage and tracking of construction materials, equipment, and tools.
- Ensure that all equipment and machinery is properly maintained, services, and repaired as needed.
- Collaborate with project management, superintendents, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and timelines.
- Coordinate the movement of materials, equipment, and personnel in and out of the yard, ensuring efficient allocation and utilization of resources.
- Promote and enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations and company policies within the yard. Conduct regular safety inspections and identify potential hazards or risks, taking appropriate corrective measures.
- Train and educate yard personnel on safe operating procedures, proper handling of equipment, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Lead a team of yard personnel, including equipment operators, labourers, and maintenance staff.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to yard operations, equipment maintenance and inventory management.
- Generate regular reports on yard activities, including equipment usage, maintenance schedules, and safety incidents.
- Uphold company culture and core values by adhering to Michels Canada's Standards and Policies and working with others to promote and preserve our values while conducting your duties to contribute to a positive and professional work environment.
- Other duties as assigned.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Technical Trades certification with 2-3 years' experience or equivalent.
- Related construction experience with a contractor; Tunneling, Trenchless, or heavy civil construction.
- Must possess a valid driver license for the type(s) of vehicles which may be driven, and an acceptable driving record as determined by the Michels Review Team.

**DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS**
- Working knowledge of health and safety regulations, with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and guide a team.
- Proficiency in using computer systems and software for inventory tracking and reporting.

**LANGUAGES**
- Must be able to communicate verbally and through written language (by hand and digitally) in English.
