Reporting to the Director of Corporate Services, the Research and Grant Writer is responsible for securing eligible funding opportunities available to Athabasca County based on current and future capital and operational needs of the municipality.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

1. Research and identify grants and funding or partnership opportunities available to the municipality and inform internal departments of possible opportunities.

2. Work with departmental leadership to understand current and future capital and operational needs of the organization.

3. Seek out key contacts for grant and funding opportunities and build successful working relationships via strong networking initiatives.

7. Develop budgets, timelines, work plans, and other documents as required.

9. Other related duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS**
- Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of job-related experience, preferably in a municipal setting.
- Excellent research skills with the ability to craft funding proposals in a clear and compelling manner.
- Able to prepare and maintain effective tracking systems and comprehensive reports.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with multiple stakeholders.
- Superior communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to adhere to privacy and confidentiality, adhering to applicable FOIP legislative requirements.
- This position requires a valid Driver’s License and clear criminal record check.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $59,761.00-$69,908.00 per year
