Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH), a 113 bed hospital located in Midland, Ontario. GBGH is located in the southern Georgian Bay community of Midland (90 minutes north of Toronto) and serves a catchment area of over 55,000 annual residents and summer population of 200,000. We are considered the gateway to the world famous 30,000 islands of Georgian Bay. This four-season community embraces a Georgian Bay lifestyle of summer activities such as boating, sailing, hiking, and golf with winter sports such a cross-country and downhill skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, hockey and curling.

GBGH requires one Anesthetist to support daily Operating room procedures (2 ORs), Ambulatory Obstetrics and on-call. GBGH is expanding their Surgical Program to include multiple visiting surgeons. Currently, we have four general Surgeons, OBGYN, Gynecologists, Ophthalmologist, four-member GP Anaesthetist Group and multiple visiting specialities (Plastics, Urology, Orthopedics, ENT & Dental). We have been approved funding for an Alternative Funding Agreement for Anesthesia, which supports this role lucratively.

We are an extremely active rural academic training site. Our community and hospital is affiliated with the University of Toronto, as home to the U of T Rural Family Medicine program. We are also a partner with the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, as host of the Comprehensive Community Clerkship program. JOB REQUIREMENTS

**Administrative and Quality**:

- Participation in ongoing quality improvement and safety activities.
- Participation in hospital committees pertaining to specialty based on interests

**Remuneration**:

- Alternative Funding Agreement (Anaesthesia)
- Fee for Service
- HOCC for on-call

Details of the remuneration can be discussed with the Chief of Staff and/or Department Chief at the time of the interview if selected.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) unrestricted license that allows the physician to fulfil the requirements of this position.

**Other**:

- Demonstrate commitment to continued professional and personal growth and development through Continuing Education Programs and Self Directed Learning opportunities.
- Independent CPSO License; or eligibility for CPSO Licence in good standing
- For US Based Physicians, the hospital may provide support in attaining a CPSO licence under their existing guidelines and provide the necessary mentorship requirements in exchange for a 2.0/1.0 ratio. (2 years of service for 1 year of mentorship). We cannot provide immigration services/assistance at this time.
