British Columbia Construction Association (BCCA) Apprenticeship Services is launching a major industry-wide drive supporting small and medium construction employers to hire and register first-year apprentices. This province-wide recruitment drive is administered by BCCA as part of the BCCA Apprentices Services campaign. In the meantime, BCCA is also providing assistance to our employers and members with their hiring needs. This job is for one of BCCA's employers. **Responsibilities**:

- Preparing, installing, repairing or replacing, conventional 2 ply torch-on (built up roofing) systems using a variety of materials
- Ensuring quality installation techniques are used and followed
- Setting up scaffolding, guardrails, or other fall protection systems to provide a safe work environment
- Loading and unloading of materials
- Using hand tools and power tools for installation
- Adhering to all job site safety requirements
- Working in a teamwork environment

Qualifications:

- 2+ years roofing experience
- Experience on large-scale flat roofs
- Must be able to install an asphalt shingle roof
- Ability to work with ladders and comfortable with heights is a must
- Ability to lift up to 80lbs
- Driver’s license, not required but considered an asset
- Red Seal Roofer Ticket, considered an asset
- First Aid Level 1, considered an asset
- A willingness to learn and take direction from supervisors
- Ability to work well and communicate with others

**Salary**: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
