We are currently seeking a qualified individual to join our Team in the position of Mechanical Assembly Lead Hand, on the day shift, at our main facility in Courtland. In this position, the incumbent will be responsible for conducting all day to day activities relating to the engine and pump assembly department as well as scheduling and overseeing the daily activities for assembly personnel. In this department, the main task is to assemble engine and machinery units with precision. Units are varying in size and often involve a multitude of components. The incumbent will assist in assembly activities, working to meet customer demands.

Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Provide leadership, assistance and support the Assembly Team
- Schedule and assign tasks as necessary
- Provide timely and effective communication to and from the supervisory / management staff and team members
- Fosters an environment of safety, teamwork and continuous improvement
- Ensures adherence Company policies, procedures, processes and shop rules
- Responsible for training & development of new/existing employees all aspects of the job
- Coordinates delivery/removal of raw material, packaging, finish product at the work center
- Maintains discipline and control in the shop
- Assume responsibility for organization and accuracy of site inventory once received from the Materials department
- Position, assemble and install components and accessories of various size using a variety of hand and power tools as well as lifting aids (overhead hoists)
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints and other technical diagrams
- Connect cables, tubes and wires to complete assemblies and installations
- Identify and report all defects as appropriate
- Clean and perform preparation of work-site
- Lubricate, clean, maintain and repair machinery, equipment, and tools
- Grind, scrape, sand, or polish surfaces using abrasive tools or machines
- Other duties as assigned

Key Skills and Qualifications
- 1-3 years of manufacturing experience, progressing into a leadership capacity
- Minimum of grade 12 education required or equivalent.
- Assertive self-starter with attention to detail, requiring mínimal supervision
- Above average interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and Bill of Materials
- Strong mathematical skills and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to use hand tools and simple power tools
- Quality mindset with strong attention to detail
- Ability to lift 25+ pounds.
- Ability to use power and hand tools
- Willingness to work overtime or adjusted hours as required
- Overhead Crane certification is a strong asset
- Forklift experience is an asset

Work Conditions
- Exposure to potentially hazardous environments (examples include dust, chemicals, noise, trade specific hazards) requiring protective equipment
- Exposure to uncomfortable work settings; may have long combinations of standing, crouching, or sitting
- Exposure to different weather conditions, from time to time
- Repetitive tasks within a fast paced work environment
