**Responsibilities**:
The Technical/Research Support 1 will work
- in collaboration with principal investigators, staff, and students, affiliated with the Department of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery and have responsibilities for conducting experiments and presenting results
- setting up and conducting clinical research studies according to study procedures, maintain records, support the research activities for qualitative and quantitative projects in adherence with ethics protocols and guidelines
- to recruit study participants, prepare study-related materials, data collection and data cleaning

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:
- Undergraduate Degree in a health-related field

**Experience**:
- 2 year work experience supporting research in a related technical field

Skills, Abilities & Expertise:
- Familiarity with experimental design and analysis
- Demonstrated knowledge of research principles and methods (quantitative and qualitative approaches)
- Detail-oriented with an ability to retrieve, analyze and synthesize sizable amounts of data, while ensuring that information is accurate and comprehensive
- Ability to follow processes with high attention to detail
- Ability to employ a systematic and efficient approach to work
- Computer skills with the ability to learn and use software programs including SPSS, and NVivo
- Familiarity with REDCap an asset
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office Suite
- Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues, students and the public
- Ability to develop and maintain multi-site study databases
- Demonstrated ability to understand and resolve issues
- Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve department goals
- Experience conducting literature searches
- Flexible availability
