Ministry of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness (EMCR) is the lead coordinating agency in the provincial government for all emergency management activities. As such, EMCR’s mission is to be responsible to British Columbians for leading the management of provincial level emergencies and disasters and supporting other authorities within their areas of jurisdiction. EMCR works directly with local authorities, First Nations, provincial ministries and agencies, federal departments, other jurisdictions, industry and volunteers in hazard mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery.

The Business Analyst provides technology planning, business analysis, systems design and client support services. Provides technical and project management expertise for multiple, concurrent, medium sized projects from initiation to completion. Experience with multiple project management methodologies including traditional, scrum and agile, and knowledge of how to use best practices and principles to deliver high quality products and services is an asset.

**Job Requirements**:

- Certificate in computer science, business, public administration, or a related field and three (3) years *related work experience, OR
- An equivalent combination of education and *related work experience may be considered.
- Related work experience must include three (3) or more of the following:

- Experience working within agile software development teams on cyclical sprint releases (ie gathering business requirements, writing tickets for developers, running user acceptance testing).
- Experience in change management processes and/or project management methodologies.
- Experience providing business analysis, requirements gathering, testing, supporting and/or maintaining for complex systems/services which have multi-ministry stakeholders or multiple lines of business.
- Experience working on technical projects, project teams, working within project timelines, working with contractors and/or consultants.

Preference may be given to applicants with any of the following:

- Experience with technical implementation projects.
- Experience with emergency management best practices including work experience in a command and control environment adhering to the Incident Command System (ICS) or similar structure.

This position is based in Saanichton. The locations listed above are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity.
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work from home a few days a week as per the Telework Agreement.
This is a one-year temporary opportunity. This temporary opportunity may be extended or become permanent.
