**The Opportunity**:
To become a lead fitter/fabricator at MacGregors facilities in MacLellan’s Brook, Pictou County and work on a diverse array of challenging and interesting projects with a core group of 25-30 shop floor personnel.

**Responsibilities**
- As a Fitter/Welder you will be **required to perform in a leadership role** on small teams including welders, laborers, and other fitters.
- Communicate with supervision and QA/QC to ensure there is a resolution to any issues of concern that arise on projects.
- Interpret drawings and **plan **the material processing, fitting, and welding of projects.
- Perform accurate calculations from drawings to layout, fit, and process material as required.
- Fit up of components for welding according to specifications.
- Ensure all parts are fitted accurately in accordance to supplied drawings.
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (Horizontal, vertical, or overhead).
- High attention to industry safety standards.

**Key Skills, Capabilities and Experience**
- Be proficient using a variety of welding equipment (FCAW, SMAW, TIG, MIG,)
- Be proficient in the fitting and processing of structural shapes and plate
- Custom fabrication skills using press breaks, shears and various other fab shop equipment.
- 10+ years’ experience as a Fitter / welder.
- Professional Certification (welding certification or red seal) will be an asset.
- Interest and ability to develop and mentor junior staff a key component of the role
- Fluency in English

**Compensation**:
$28.00 - $33.00 hourly depending on skillset

1.5x OT after 40 hours worked
