**What the role is all about**:
You have pride in maintaining a clean and orderly work environment when working in the kitchen and follow instructions closely when preparing food and accomplishing tasks during a shift. As a Dishwasher/Preparation Cook, you will be reporting to the Sous Chef /Executive Chef within the division of Operations - Food & Beverage.
**Responsibilities**
- Ensure the smooth and efficient operations of the dishwasher
- Prepare the dishes and utensils for washing - scrape, rinse and stack
- Ensure all dishes are put away and stored properly.
- Ensure that all dish cleaning equipment and supplies are stocked properly
- Maintain kitchen and dishwashing work areas, sweep the kitchen floor and take the trash out.
- Believe in safety first; demonstrate a safe work practice at all times by adhering to all WinSport safety policies and procedures and ensuring one’s own safety is preserved along with the safety of co-workers, direct reports and WinSport guests. This includes being mindful of all safety hazards/concerns and ensuring safety issues are reported
- Must be willing to work with the banquet/team lead/executive sous /executive chef in executing scheduled events on and off-site. This includes but is not limited to basic food skills i.e.: peeling, chopping, slicing and possible grilling. Must be comfortable to learn new culinary skill sets
- If able, participate in the driver training process for WinSport vehicles. Trained drivers are then responsible for the safe operation of WinSport vehicles, ensuring personal safety and adhering to traffic laws at all times while moving food products and equipment on and offsite.
- Demonstrate a safe work practice at all times by adhering to all WinSport safety policy and procedures and ensuring one’s own safety is preserved along with the safety of co-workers, direct reports and WinSport guests
- Other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**
- Passion for cooking and providing an excellent product to our WinSport customers
- Strong communication skills and the ability to perform professionally
- Must like working supportively in a team environment along with independently
- Able to follow direction
- A valid Class 5 driver’s license, a sufficiently clear Driver’s Abstract, and the willingness to learn to operate WinSport vans/trucks is a strong asset.
**Work Conditions**:
- Frequently expected to lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing more than 20 lbs. (without the assistance of mobile, powered equipment
- Lengthy or continuous exposure to heat (temperatures above 30 C/85 F.)
- Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is constantly required (i.e., more than 75% of the time on the job.)
- Prolonged standing or walking and rapid physical work pace, requiring you to maintain the pace that can bring on a moderate amount of physical fatigue
- Physical work pace and/or exertion requires somewhat rapid movement and/or effort to keep up, and brings on a moderate amount of physical fatigue
