**Who we need**

We are currently seeking a **Coordinator, Early Learning Centres** to work closely with the Early Learning Centre Directors and oversee the effective administration and operation of Early Learning Centres (ELC) in accordance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA), Toronto Children's Services Assessment for Quality Improvement (AQI) and the regulations and procedures of other legislative bodies.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure an age-appropriate curriculum for each group to meet individual developmental needs is planned, implemented and posted.
- Manual and electronic records management (e.g. HiMama), including children and staff data, children's reports, attendance records, fees, petty cash, waiting lists, fire drills, and other assigned tasks.
- Recognize, document, and take action in the case of suspected child abuse, illness, or accident.
- Complete serious occurrence reports as required.
- Responsible for supporting staff (ECA and ECE) to consistently maintain the safety, health, and well-being of the children.
- Ensure quality childcare programs comply with CDI ELC and City of Toronto regulations and other legislative bodies (CCEYA, AQI, licensing, and H&S).
- Work with the ELC Director to support continuous professional development opportunities for educators.
- Order supplies with management approval for equipment in all areas of the centre and ensure the safe operation and timely repairs of equipment, furnishings, etc.
- Review program plans to ensure focus on learning experiences and preparation of appropriate materials/activities.
- Maintain and update program, families, and community info bulletin boards.
- Communicate to the ELC Director when the behaviour of educators affects children's learning, educators' performance and the performance of the early learning centre.
- Manages (with management approval) physical building issues, maintenance, and problems to ensure a safe environment.
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding admissions, withdrawals, subsidies, their child's progress, and other relevant information continuously.
- Consult with the ELC Director or designate when appropriate.
- Support the ELC Director with the recruitment of supply staff.
- Assist with short-period coverage in the program as needed.
- Oversee the ELC centre when the Director is absent.
- Participate and take minutes at staff meetings and Parent Advisory meetings.
- Assist with staff scheduling and Dayforce input as needed. Adhere to collective agreement.
- Other duties assigned.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Degree/Diploma in Early Childhood Education. - Registered member in good standing with the College of Early Childhood Education.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a childcare setting.
- Clean Vulnerable Sector Police Check.
- Demonstrated knowledge of CCEYA, Ontario Early Learning Framework (HDLH/ELECT), Toronto Children's Services AQI.
- Updated health assessment and immunization as required by the Ministry of Education.
- Extensive knowledge of child development and effective individual and group programming in a childcare setting.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a respectful and aware manner with groups from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
- Excellent time management, planning, organizing, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Possess strong verbal and written communication and influencing skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
- Experience in a unionized and non-profit environment.
- General knowledge of legislation, human rights and employment standards.
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR (Level C).
