Number of positions: 2
All students must be full time day students at a recognized secondary or post-secondary institution and be returning to full time attendance in fall of 2023.
Students must meet the basic requirements of the position. Should you be offered the position, with the City of Cornwall, you will be required to submit verification of school status.
Hours: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm; 40 hours per week, plus overtime as required.
Hourly Wage: Starting at $17.00 per hour
Term: 4 months, May to end of August
This position ensures that community housing properties and units are maintained to standards set by Health and Safety and residential tenancy legislation. The position works with our capital and maintenance team to ensure general upkeep of buildings and grounds to project a positive image of community housing. Work will be completed mainly outdoors.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist the maintenance and capital team with assigned tasks
- Daily tasks include lawn care, minor cleaning, and general property maintenance
- Cleaning of all common areas including lounges, laundry rooms, garbage rooms, elevators, elevator rooms, boiler rooms, storage areas, fire exits, stairwells, windows, and public washrooms
- Landscaping duties including grass cutting and maintenance of flower beds
- Adheres to established facility policies and procedures, including safety rules and safe working practices
- Must be capable of performing necessary physical duties including the movement of heavy objects
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Understanding of the proper and safe use of power tools and equipment
- Must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to work independently
- Must be familiar with and able to carry out minor repairs to facility and equipment
- Must show proof of a valid G drivers license, including drivers abstract
- Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (two doses) at the time of interview
