Das Technician

**Primary Functions**:
Installation, termination and testing of cabling infrastructure. In many cases, the technician will need to exercise sound judgment and prior experience to determine the best installation methods.

**Responsibilities**:

- Installation and termination of DAS specific infrastructure cabling ( Heliax and Cat6A )
- Installation and termination of CAT5E/6 and/or fiber cable
- Report to the site on time and follow the direction of project lead / foreman.
- Ability to Operate specialized cable testers to verify termination and performance integrity
- Provide daily updates to the project lead / foreman

**Requirements**:

- Minimum grade 12 education with cabling apprenticeship preferred
- 5 years’ experience installing cabling in various building types and environments
- Ability to work off regular business hours including evenings, nights and weekends.
- Exhibit a comfort level in operating a laptop computer with a working knowledge of MSOffice
- Ability to read and comprehend floor plans
- Systimax, Panduit, Ortronics certifications an asset
- Can perform either new installations or Moves, Adds and Changes
- Safety training WHIMIS, Working at Heights, Asbestos awareness

- Project Manager, Dispatcher, Department lead

**Equipment used**:

- Laptop, ladder, hand tools, drills and test equipment
