**Overview**
**Located in Ottawa, Ontario, Central Precast was **established in 1956 and began manufacturing precast concrete products for the general construction industry. The product line and manufacturing facility grew to include landscape products, steps, and architectural panels and is part of **The Precast Group** which is the largest precast concrete products producer in Eastern Ontario. The Precast Group has three manufacturing operations: Central Precast, M Con Products and Utility Structures Inc. Our mission is to meet the demands of our customers and employees, under a safe working environment, where service and quality are at the forefront. **We have an immediate opening for a Plant Supervisor.**
**Roles and Responsibilities**:
- Manage and lead a team of production workers to ensure the efficient and effective operation of the manufacturing plant.
- Oversee production schedules with production coordinator and monitor production performance to ensure that production targets are met.
- Allocate work to employees based on skill and production schedule.
- Ensure that all production processes are carried out in accordance with established quality standards and Quality Management Systems (QMS).
- Communicate effectively with all plant personnel the importance of consistently
producing quality products for our customers.
- Verify and collect daily plant equipment/machine inspection reports and arrange for them to be repaired/serviced when required.
- Coordinate with maintenance and QC to meet production and quality requirements.
- Report on any errors or defects and take necessary action to prevent them from reoccurring.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations; WSIB and health and safety standards.
- Assist with managing the staffing requirements to meet production and expansion demands.
- Assist in training new and existing team members based on the skills matrix.
- Perform employee performance evaluations as required.
- Maintain records on employee attendance, health and safety violations, etc.
- Manage, motivate, and coach existing and new staff to meet production target and performance goals.
- Further establish employee relations and help to resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
- Identify and resolve production targets and performance goals.
- Liaise with union representatives.
- Ensure all personnel wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Other duties as required.
**Qualifications**:
- _Education Required:_
- _Post-Secondary Degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field_
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a manufacturing supervisor position or equivalent role
**Specific Experience**:
- Proven track record of success in managing production schedules, reducing waste, and improving efficiency.
- Managing in a unionized environment is considered an asset.
- Knowledge around WSIB and Health and Safety
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software

**Compensation Offer**
- Salary commensurate with experience
- Permanent, Full-time, Monday-Friday, 44 hours/week
