**GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY**:
The Enhanced Staff will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of the program for children identified on a contract/term. The position also requires the individual to assist in the preparation of the program activities in such a way that a safe, warm and caring environment for each child will be maintained specific to the child(ren)’s individual needs.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Collaborate with room staff to plan and implement age appropriate activities and to present a safe/clean and visually appealing environment in accordance with the Ministry of Education regulations and the YMCA Policies and Procedures.
- Responsible for direct care, programming, and implementation of individual program plans.
- Assists the child care staff in incorporating learning experiences designed to meet the individual needs of the children, using a variety of teaching techniques.
- Establish and maintain positive daily communication with children, families, YMCA staff and community contacts.
- Act as a professional role model for children, volunteers, students and fellow staff members.
- Work together as an integral part of a team that meets the social, emotional and physical needs of all children in the childcare program.
- Participate in all YMCA trainings, workshops, meetings and childcare events.
- Provide positive social experiences including sharing, cooperation and role modeling the YMCA core values - Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, Caring and Inclusiveness.
- Be a role model and implement SAM 2.0 standards.
- Other duties as assigned by the Kids Club Coordinators.

**REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS**:
Reports to: Kids Club Coordinators

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:

- Variable hours required
- Multiple time and task pressures
- Requirement of Standard First Aid and CPR
- Clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector check

**EDUCATION/TRAINING/QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Post-Secondary Education in a related field
- Recreation/Educational Assistant
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act and requirements

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Minimum of 2 years experience in a child care setting

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 10 months

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 30 per week
