As the new **Production Supervisor**, you will report to the Plant Manager and be responsible for a team of 30 employees. You will be accountable for helping increase production efficiency by organizing manpower, evaluating activities performed, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing improvements. Above all else, you will motivate others and express enthusiasm while promoting teamwork and safety.

**Specifically, you will**:

- Carry out production tasks in accordance with industry standards, obeying legal authorities and to the established policies and procedures of production
- Lead by example with regards to adherence to established policies and procedures
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with Production Manager, all Senior Management, and employees
- Create a safety-conscious work environment by taking precautionary measures against accidents, providing PPE, monitoring, and coaching staff on appropriate PPE use and enforcing Health and Safety Rules and Regulations
- Encourage teamwork by fairly distributing the workload and ensuring all staff are participating fully in the process
- Assist in the cross-training of all employees to achieve a more flexible, versatile production team
- Monitor process effectiveness and make suggestions on how to improve the process and communicate with the appropriate personnel what actions should be taken
- Report results, issues, and problems to the Production Manager
- Ensure that employees follow the production guidelines and work instructions in place, and that the proper tools are used to complete the job
- Manage resources effectively to prevent waste
- Ensure that employees work hours are tracked and reported accurately and in a timely manner
- Record employee absences and ensure that the information is documented correctly and with accuracy and provided to payroll
- Review each area of the production line daily and understand the constrictions in each area (if any) that could affect safety, quality, or production
- Help provide ideas on cost saving measures
- Follow production schedule as provided each shift and advise when something is not met with an explanation
- Complete appropriate daily checks, shift reports, and all other required documents

**_Requirements: _**
- Previous supervisory experience.
- Experience in the food industry (preferred).
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Excellent coaching and communication skills.
- Positive attitude and team oriented.
- Able to deal with complex issues in a fast-paced setting.
- Understanding of machine controls and instrumentation (an asset).
- Available to work both day and evening shifts.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $25.00 per hour
