Company Introduction: T&T Supermarket Inc. was founded in 1993 with two stores in BC. Since then, it has expanded rapidly and is now Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with 31 stores across the country: 13 in BC, 7 in Alberta, 10 in Ontario, and 1 in Quebec. The Company’s continuous expansion is going to bring more new stores in the next couple of years.

The Role: Reporting to the Kitchen Department Head, this position is to fry, cut, pack, weigh, label and prepare various Kitchen (BBQ, Hot Foods, Dim Sum, Sushi and/or others) products in advance for customers to choose from. The position also needs to stock Kitchen products onto display cases in the sales area and display cooler, provide good customer service to our customers by fulfilling their requests, and maintain inventory and workplace cleanliness.
- Major Responsibilities: Greet customers by providing good customer service with smiles, be friendly with enthusiasm
- Assist customers in selecting Kitchen products (BBQ, Hot Foods, Dim Sum, Sushi and/or others) and provide recommendations as required
- Ensure product quality, food safety, freshness and ensure FIFO is strictly practiced within the department
- Prepare various Kitchen Products (BBQ, Sushi and other Cooked foods) products, label them correctly and display them in the display areas and cases
- Maintain workplace cleanliness by washing and ensure relevant work tools clean and well-kept
- Keep product display full, attractive and neat, timely replenish inventory, if necessary
- Follow procedures to verify and process expired Kitchen Deli products and manage shrinkage
- Receive products deliveries and take customer orders
- Ensure daily sales and other checklists are properly completed
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the superior
- Knowledge, Skills and Ability Requirements: Flexible to work in shifts, including weekdays, weekends, evening hours and statutory holidays
- Able to stand for a long time and use work related tools in a safe manner
- Able to communicate in English and Chinese (Cantonese &/or Mandarin) an asset
- Knowledge of basic work safety
- Relevant experience and Kitchen deli product knowledge, display, promotion and packaging techniques preferred
