This is a unique opportunity to work on the leading edge of the unconventional forest product sector, looking at innovative bioproducts to help lead the transition to a low-carbon bioeconomy in British Columbia.

The Indigenous Bioeconomy Program Lead focuses on operationalizing our Indigenous Forest Bioeconomy Program. The Branch has supported Indigenous forestry initiatives for at least a decade, and the Ministry actively partners with a variety of research organizations, Indigenous governments and industry to advance its mandate and create opportunities for First Nations to participate in the natural resource sector. Our Program delivery largely consists of a variety of projects with First Nations, often in partnership with other organizations. The Program Lead is key to not only managing implementation, but ensuring we continue to build and enhance relationships with First Nations, that projects meet both the Ministry’s goals and First Nations goals, and that they deliver value to British Columbians. The Program Lead’s expertise in the sector is critical to understanding the context, feasibility, and expected outcomes of various projects, while allowing for a degree of creativity in developing innovative projects.
