Our client is a leader in the Lighting Industry and is dedicated to the representation of quality lighting manufacturers from around the world. They currently have a rare opportunity for a Lighting Controls Specialist to join their team.

This is a great opportunity for an Electronics Technologist, Technicians, or Controls Specialist with relevant experience. It can also be a great fit for Apprentice Electricians or Technical/Specification Sales Personnel who are looking for new career paths.

**What You Will Be Doing**:

- Ensuring that luminaire drawings & controls comply with the specifications of the project.
- Designing lighting controls to meet ASHRAE guidelines.
- Creating accurate Bill of Materials
- Coordinating between the Sales team and the Specifiers to provide professional quality drawings.
- Answering and troubleshooting technical questions both before a job is specified, and after it has been installed.
- Liaise, consult, and communicate with key project stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and internal teams

**What You Should Already Have**:

- Sufficient background knowledge in Electronics and Lighting in order to be trained on industry specific tasks.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and comply with the specifications of the project and sequence of operations.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Good software skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Lighting industry experience preferred, but willing to train on the job for those with a strong understanding of control systems
- Associate degree or higher would be an asset.
