The Common Dog is hiring a K9 Handler/Walker to join our team

The Common Dog is a dog training business that offers structured, on leash dog walking. This is not your average dog walking job, we prioritize each dog's training, behaviour, mindset and calm socialization with the pack. We work with all kinds of personalities and behaviours, calm and happy as well as anxious, nervous and fearful.

The position:

- Part time to start, with full time hours available after initial training period.
- Must be available Monday through Friday for 8hr shifts.
- Pick up and drop off dogs to and from their homes.
- Hiking/walking trails and neighborhoods, rain or shine.
- Hiking/walking for 1.5-3 hours per day.
- Handling up to 4 dogs on leash at a time.
- Taking pictures, videos and posting to The Common Dog's social media accounts.
- Schedule and organize walks, communicate with clients.
- Have an understanding of canine behaviour.
- Have at least 6 months experience working with dogs, either in a kennel, dog daycare, dog walker or as a vet assistant.
- Professional and has excellent communication skills.
- Have a valid BC drivers license and a clean driving record.
- Willing to complete a criminal record check.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Part-time hours: 32-40 per week

**Salary**: From $17.00 per hour

COVID-19 considerations:
Required to wear a mask when entering a clients home and if/when riding in a vehicle with a co worker.
