**DESCRIPTION** One.6 FTE (21 hrs/wk) Contract to March 31, 2025** (with the possibility of an extension or becoming permanent)

YSSN is looking for a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Specialist who will be a champion for our agency DEI Strategy, with the goal that our services, practices and personnel reflect the diversity of the communities we serve.

Work Location: This role is hybrid, requiring virtual and in-office (Aurora) or community work, as required
- University degree with a preferred specialization in Social Sciences, Psychology, Human Resources, Diversity Studies, or related field
- Comprehensive knowledge of DEI concepts, social inequities, human rights, anti-racism and all forms of anti-oppression
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in building, aligning and implementing organization-wide strategies, including DEI best practices
- Clear evidence of leadership in diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and a record of working collaboratively with a wide range of constituents who may have different ideas and needs, with diplomacy, empathy, and tact
- Demonstrated experience in developing training plans and facilitating meetings to build DEI knowledge and capacity
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to develop strong relationships and engage diverse viewpoints and approaches
- A collaborative, open and creative approach to problem solving and a willingness to engage in challenging conversations with tact and diplomacy
- Excellent program and project management skills, with a clear focus on delivery and ability to manage multiple projects.
- Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking, with the ability to self-start and is comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity
- The successful applicant will be required to provide a police clearance that meets agency standards
- A valid G driver's license, business use insurance, and a reliable vehicle are required for this position
