Casual Instructor, Electronics Technology Program

NAIT's Electronics Engineering Technology program is a nationally accredited and internationally recognized program that provides a comprehensive understanding of the principles of electricity, embedded systems, communications, industrial electronics and problem-solving skills. The program will provide graduates with the skills to perform entry-level roles in several industry disciplines, including installation, testing and maintenance of electronic systems, technical sales, engineering support, quality control and design.
We are looking to fill the following courses:
- **ELTR 1256 - Troubleshooting & Manufacturing I**
This course develops two distinct skill sets in the student. The first skill set relates to soldering and reworking of through-hole and surface mount components on printed circuit boards. The troubleshooting section of the course develops the student’s rudimentary skill to logically search for, diagnose, and strategize to find single faults in pre-faulted electronic circuits. The student will be instructed in selecting appropriate measurements using various electronic test equipment to aid their search.
**Contract Instruction Deliverables**:
- Provide direct classroom/lab instruction while utilizing appropriate instructional strategies to maximize student motivation and learning in a skill-building environment;
- Evaluate the learning process: Ensure learning is evaluated in a reliable and timely manner, providing appropriate and timely feedback to students; Submit marks/records promptly;
- Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students and colleagues.
- Respond to student issues.
- Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications and program promotions
**Qualifications**:
- Electronics Engineering Technology diploma (preferred) or a related Technology Diploma with several years of related experience is required.
- Industry experience soldering. Both through hole and surface mount technology, track and pad repair.
- Troubleshooting experience in several of the following areas: Simple resistor circuits, basic common emitter amplifiers, two-stage amplifiers.
- Familiarity with WHMIS.
- Teaching experience would be an asset.
**Remuneration**: $99.00 per Scheduled Instruction Hour. (Classification - NASA Instructor A).
- This position is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) Collective Agreement_
