Restaurant Supervisor Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and experienced restaurant supervisor to join our growing team. In this position, you will play a key role in managing all aspects of our restaurant business. You will be expected to deliver a high-quality experience to our guests and motivate our staff to ensure excellent customer service. Supervisors will be responsible for maintaining quality and increasing profitability. Exceptional management skills and a strong understanding of customer service are a must.
The restaurant supervisor's responsibilities include overseeing the activities of restaurant staff, expediting customers' orders as needed, and maintaining good working relationships with staff. You should also be able to identify ways to decrease the restaurant's operational costs.
To be successful as a restaurant supervisor, you should exercise effective management skills and take necessary disciplinary actions to address poor staff performance. Ultimately, a top-performing restaurant supervisor should be able to achieve exceptional customer service and ensure that customers have a pleasant restaurant experience.
Restaurant Supervisor Responsibilities:
- Train new employees and provide ongoing training for all staff.
- Managing restaurant staff's work schedules.
- Conducting regular inspections with the Kitchen Manager to determine whether proper standards of hygiene and sanitation are maintained.
- Overseeing Food and Beverage preparation, presentation, and storage to ensure compliance with food, health and safety regulations.
- Checking in on dining customers to enquire about food quality and service.
- Monitoring inventory and ensuring that all food supplies and other restaurant essentials are adequately stocked.
- Reviewing customer surveys to develop and implement ways to improve customer service.
- Resolving customer complaints in a professional manner.
- Oversee all front and back of the house restaurant operations
- Ensure customer satisfaction through promoting excellent service; respond to customer complaints tactfully and professionally.
- Maintain quality control for all food served.
- Analyze staff evaluations and feedback to improve the customer’s experience.
- Project future needs for goods, bar supplies, and cleaning products; order accordingly.
- Oversee health code compliance and sanitation standards.
- Seek ways to cut waste and decrease operational costs.
Restaurant Supervisor Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration or hospitality is advantageous.
- Strong working knowledge and proven experience working as a supervisor in the hospitality industry.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to stand for extended periods.
- Strong management skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Effective communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Ability to use restaurant management software.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Decisive and critical thinker.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 40 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
Work Location: In person
