As we gear up for the busy summer season, we're seeking a motivated individual to join our team as a Household Goods Dispatcher.

**Job Summary**:We are looking for a detail oriented Household Goods Dispatcher. The Dispatcher is responsible for planning orders, communicating with drivers, interacting with customers as well as the customer service team, sales, warehouse and other operational staff.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Arrange household goods shipments
- Remain compliant with all hauling policies
- Understand and communicate company rates and revenue distribution
- Participate in discussions and problem solve for solutions for any shipments that are in danger of service failure
- Work with crews to improve service quality
- Control costs whenever possible
- Maintain and update dispatch programs
- Maintain communication between all parties ensuring everyone involved is aware of changing circumstances
- Manage phone calls, deal with front line issues i.e., shuttles, labour, weather issues
- Strong attention to order details with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Support in collecting pertinent information
- Assist in the training of new staff and share best practices
- Compile and investigate reports as directed by management
- Special projects, assignments and other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**:

- Knowledge of Canadian geography, highway systems and comfort with mapping programs is a must
- Clear and effective communications skills are imperative
- Proven ability to multi-task, problem-solve and prioritize activities
- Organizational and time-management skills are a must
- Attention to detail a must
- Phone skills are critical
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Team oriented individual who can work with others on shared responsibilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Moving industry/Van Line knowledge and experience is an asset

**Working Conditions**:

- Fast paced work environment with time sensitive deadlines
- Challenging scenarios arise and must be met with clear and decisive action
- Longer hours including occasional weekend/holiday attendance may be needed to meet seasonal requirements
- Weekend and after-hours calls as required
- Limitations on vacation during peak periods (June - August)

Pay: $60,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
