**Job Title**:Night Residential Worker (Bilingual)

**Job Type**:(1) Permanent full-time unionized position. (35 hrs/ week: rotating schedule of seven 10-hour shifts arranged over two-weeks)

**Hours**:10:30pm - 8:30am, other hours as required by the Manager

**Job Summary**:
The Night Residential Worker is responsible for covering overnight shifts in the **Grove program**. The worker is expected to remain awake during shifts and the responsibilities include providing supportive counselling, crisis intervention and assisting clients with basic life skills as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Two years of experience working in the mental health field.
- One year of experience working in a residential setting.
- Training in CPR, CPI, ASIST, Psychiatric Rehabilitation, Concurrent Disorders, ASL and LSQ is an asset.

**Duties Summary**:

- Provide supportive counseling and/or crisis intervention to clients/tenants.
- Provide individual support and teaching or assisting with life skills, such as cleaning, cooking, personal and sleep hygiene as needed.
- Provide group support when needed.
- Provide on-call coverage for off-site clients
- Complete documentation as required in logbook, client files, incident reports, etc.
- Other duties may be assigned by the Program Manager.

- Demonstrates knowledge about natural sleep cycles, impact of caffeine, exercise etc. on sleep patterns.
- Demonstrates knowledge of mediation, conflict resolution and problem solving.
- Demonstrates knowledge of the forensic system.
- Demonstrates knowledge of concurrent disorders.
- Demonstrates understanding of: Crisis intervention and prevention & Suicide prevention and intervention.

**Skills, Ability to**:

- Establish supportive relationships with individuals and groups.
- Relate to clients using a strengths based, client-centered approach.
- Establish a supportive and respectful group living environment.
- Provide support through mediation, conflict resolution, and problem solving and crisis intervention.
- Teach techniques to establish good sleep habits.
- Set firm, reasonable boundaries and limits.

**Pre Hiring Requirements**:

- Academic certificates
- Criminal reference check (Vulnerable Sector Screening)
- Eligibility to work in Canada

**Language Requirement**:
Full proficiency in English and French is required for this position.

**Salary**:
As per the collective agreement ($21.03 - $23.80 per hour)

Le travailleur résidentiel de nuit est responsable de couvrir les quarts de travail dans le **cadre du programme Grove**. On s’attend à ce que le travailleur reste éveillé pendant les quarts de travail et ses responsabilités comprennent la prestation de conseils de soutien, l’intervention en cas de crise et l’aide aux clients en leur acquérant des aptitudes de base à la vie quotidienne, au besoin.

**Qualifications**:

- Deux ans d’expérience dans le domaine de la santé mentale.
- Une année d’expérience de travail en milieu résidentiel.
- Une formation en RCR, IPC, TSIA, réadaptation psychiatrique, troubles concomitants, ASL et LSQ
