**Salary**: $24-$26/hr CAD

**Responsibilities**:

- **Analyze** composites - Physical and chemical
- ** Operation **of analytical equipment such as HPLC, FTIR
- ** Managing **the calibration of glass wares and the instruments and maintenance, cleaning and checking of equipment
- ** Familiarity/Operation** of instruments such as ICP/OES, Leco, pH, XRF, MFR, FTIR, DSC, TGA, TMA, DMA, GC/MS, hardness meters, analytical balances, etc.
- ** Coordinating **with the other technicians in the team to carry out work as per the planning schedule
- ** Manage **verification and calibration of instruments.

This is a fast-paced environment, and we need someone who is proactive, self-motivated and a team player. The person for this role will be a specialist in their field, respected by all who they work with, keen to learn and enthusiastic in the face of challenge. You will need:

- Associates degree or higher in Chemistry or equivalent, and/or at least 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Ability to work in teams under pressure and flexible to work different working overtime hours, if required or necessary.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills along with strong interpersonal skills and listening ability to communicate effectively with peers, superiors, customers and vendors.
- Knowledge and experience of safe operation of testing equipment and operating in an independent / chemistry / consultant laboratory.
