ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a Traffic Controllers to join Wright Tree Service of Canada (Wright Canada Holdings Ltd.) for various locations within Prince Edward Island as integral members of our crew, gaining hands on training experience in the vegetation management industry. We offer:

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
- Direct and control vehicular and pedestrian traffic at work sites, ensuring smooth flow and mínimal disruption.
- Monitor site conditions and implement safety protocols to protect workers and the public. Report any hazards or incidents immediately.
- Erect and maintain traffic control signs, cones, and barriers in accordance with applicable regulations and best practices.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for motorists and pedestrians, providing clear directions and information regarding detours and delays.
- Work closely with crew members and site supervisors to coordinate operations and minimize traffic disruption.
- Document daily activities, incidents, and any traffic-related issues encountered during work shifts.
- Participate in ongoing training and development related to traffic control and safety regulations.
- Work and train with Certified Arborists to assist on work duties.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and on a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to read and complete daily paperwork.
- Thorough knowledge of safety in the industry
- Valid PEI Class 5 Driver’s License and a current Driver’s Abstract.
- Ability to work independently and self-motivate with good time management.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Flexibility with traveling in and out of town, via plane and/or vehicle.
- Assistance may be required during major storm events.
- Applicant must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
