CT&V currently has an opening for a **Platework Fitter**. This role is pivotal within the project team, reporting directly to site project management. This individual is accountable for fitting metal plates and components into their designated weld positions. The execution of tasks involves meticulous planning and coordination with site project management, adhering strictly to blueprints and engineering drawings. Given the nature of this role, extensive travel to diverse remote and rural job site locations is imperative, necessitating lodging for the duration of shift days. Overtime may be necessary in accordance with the client's specified schedule.

**What you will do**:

- Collaborate closely with the site supervisor to meticulously plan daily fitting tasks, ensuring the seamless progression of welding activities.
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and other site instructions to accurately mark the plate and position other metal components during the fitting process.
- Ensure precise placement of floor, shell, and roof plates in their final positions by utilizing fit-up gear such as clamps, bolts, ball pins, and tacking.
- Verify that the correct materials and pieces are assembled in accordance with the provided drawings. Promptly communicate any discrepancies to the site supervision.
- Proactively facilitate the movement of materials within the work area, adhering to established safe rigging procedures.
- Provide essential support in the in-house fitting and fabrication of various small metal components by bending, cutting, shaping, and installing them into final structures like ladders, wind girders, nozzles, etc.
- Demonstrate a dedicated commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and upholding proper housekeeping practices.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or certificate.
- Extensive experience in heavy plate erection and fitting, preferably within the tank industry.
- Experience working in an API 650 and API 653 work environment including Structural metal or Steel, Platework, Tanks, Boilers, an asset.
- Safety-first mindset.
- Ability to travel.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $35.00-$39.00 per hour
