Packaging Processor

The Packaging Processor is responsible for the appropriate packing, including stretch wrapping and identification of finished product leaving the production area.
12 Hour Shift:
- Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday & Saturday, 6 AM - 6 PM
- Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, 6 AM - 6 PM
7.5 Hour Day shift: Monday through Friday, 8 AM - 4 PM

**Job Requirements**:
- High School Diploma/GED/Mature Student Diploma
- Criminal Record Check is required and must be provided within 2 weeks after the start date
- Previous packaging experience and asset
- Experience operating and using small tools
- Effective English use and comprehension
- Digital Literacy (Microsoft Office, keyboarding skills)
- Essential Math skills (Metric and Imperial measurements, problem solving, conversion charts,etc.)
- Effective use of production related documents to accomplish job tasks
- Ability to detect, isolate, and identify irregularities in product
- Demonstrated organization, prioritizing, time and stress management skills
- Able to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Must be able to work in a team-oriented environment while demonstrating self-management capabilities
- Excellent manual dexterity
- Must be willing to work at all Friesens facilities as needed
- Knowledge of workplace safety, safe lifting and handling procedures
- Previous forklift experience an asset
**Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Work and communicate effectively with the Managers and co-workers
- Perform packing duties with attention to detail and accuracy
- Understand the job packing and shipping requirements from information on the docket, on PrintStream and related information
- Communicate carton, skid and label information to packing assistants
- Ensure correct and complete identification as required
- Prepare skids for shipment
- Maintain PrintStream inventory information as required
- Responsible for advancing yearbook covers to appropriate next stage and updating electronic documentation for tracking purposes
- Practice Friesens safety procedures for equipment and plant situations
- Assist with cross-training as required
- Work and communicate effectively with the Managers and co-workers
- Perform packing duties with attention to detail and accuracy
