Reporting to the Manager, Hospitality Services, the Storekeeper/Housekeeper enhances the dignity and quality of life of our clients through his/her assumed responsibility for the **effective organization of the storeroom, assorted housekeeping services, and clients’ meal transportation to designated locations or any other location as directed** that will assist Good Shepherd Ministries in responding to the needs of the homeless, disadvantaged and marginalized in our community.

**Responsibilities for this position include but not limited to the following**:

- Carry out all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values of Good Shepherd Ministries; Receive donations, sort and correctly store food items, household, personal hygiene and janitorial supplies, including the loading/unloading of trucks as required;
- Order, monitor, rotate and control the correct use of stocks and supplies and be responsible for secure storage and usage in order to eliminate waste and/or improper use; Rotate, organize and supply food and food products, including fresh produce, as directed, for daily meal preparation;
- Order supplies and re-stock cleaning stations, including janitorial supplies; Direct and assist volunteers in the laundry and storerooms;
- Responsible for transporting meals to a designated location, serving and bringing back used containers, assisting within the shelter, preparing orders, and conducting cleaning;
- Ensure the daily vehicle circle check, regular maintenance repair checks and manufacturers' services are carried out on all Good Shepherd Ministries vehicles assigned for use, and to record these repairs/services as directed;
- Provide housekeeping and janitorial services as needed;
- Prepare care packages for clients as directed ;
- Perform any other tasks as required or as assigned from time to time by the Manager of Hospitality Services or his designate.

**Skill, Nature and Scope**:

- Actively practices the Mission, Vision and Values of Good Shepherd Ministries.
- A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in storekeeping and housekeeping.
- A minimum of two (2) years’ driving experience with a valid Ontario G Driver’s License to demonstrate a clean driving record through a driver's abstract that may be required from time to time.
- Knowledge in workplace safety and hazardous materials/chemicals through experience and/or related courses (e.g. WHMIS) is essential.
- Completion of Public Health’s Food Safety Certificate in Safe Food Handling.
- CPR, First Aid and AED Certificates acquired through a recognized course.
- Organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to lead and motivate co-workers and volunteers within the department as well as a demonstrated ability to prioritize work overload with effective attention to detail.
- Excellent written communication skills to prepare reports, order supplies, etc. are essential.
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills to maintain teamwork with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

**Hours of work**: Forty (40) hours per week with availability to work on weekends and some holidays is required.

Pay: $21.91-$22.62 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
