Job Summary
The Carpenter works under the direction of the Project Manager to meet the project’s expected goals. The Carpenter will work in the warehouse and on-site, depending on the work being completed. Carpenters implement scopes of work that adhere to the quality standards of Downs Construction.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintaining professionalism and presenting Downs Construction positively to various stakeholders
- Interpreting and creating comprehensive scopes of work
- Demonstrating skill in the safe operation of shop tools
- Following all company policies and standards
- Completing all necessary documentation
- Coaching, assisting, and delegating tasks to labourers and sub trades
- Practicing good housekeeping on the job and in the warehouse
- Dealing with a changing work environment daily
- Understanding different municipal and provincial building code requirements
- Completing jobs in an efficient and timely manner
Job Requirements
- Certified Journeyman Carpenter (Red Seal)
- Valid BC drivers’ license
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Detail oriented
- Ability to work well alone or as part of a team
- Practical knowledge of carpentry and building maintenance
- Knowledge of workplace safety standards
- Available for on-call after hours emergencies
- Experience in the restoration industry
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
Compensation
- Salary**:$27 - $37 per hour**:
