**Forestry Auditor**

Intertek is searching for a **Forestry Auditor **to join our Business Assurance team in the **Ontario, Canada **region.

**Auditor of Forest Programs**

**DUTIES**:

- Follow Intertek's compliance code, policies, and procedures
- Represent the audit team and Intertek to customers.
- Develop audit plans.
- Plan and coordinate travel arrangements for audits, as appropriate.
- Assess client management systems through a document review, on-site observation, and interviews.
- Identify and document areas of compliance and non-compliance.
- Write comprehensive reports and recommendations based on audit findings.
- Evaluate and approve corrective actions taken by clients.
- Submit timecards and expense reports on time for approval.
- Train, mentor, evaluate (as part of the auditor qualification process) audit teammates upon request.

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Bachelor's degree in natural resources, sustainability, environmental studies or a related field
- Advanced courses, training or experience in forestry, environmental and safety management will be an asset.
- More than 5 years of professional experience in the industry
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of manufacturing systems.
- Fluency in English with work experience that involves professional and technical written communication in English.
- Ability to travel 90% of the time, including by car and plane
- FSC, SFI, PEFC audit/work experience is preferred - The main service is to perform chain of custody audits and forest management audits.
- Proficient with business software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Information Communication Technology tools (Zoom, Skype, Microsoft Teams, etc.)

**PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS**:

- The ability to climb or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and others, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
- The ability to express or exchange ideas through speech. Must be able to convey detailed or important oral instructions to other workers accurately, aloud or quickly.
- The ability to perceive the nature of sounds at normal levels of speech with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication and to make discrimination healthy.
- The ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
- Need for narrow visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparation and analysis of data and figures; transcription; display of a computer terminal; in-depth reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or machinery operation (including inspection); the use of measuring devices; and/or assembling or manufacturing parts at distances close to the eyes.
