As the Recreation Planner, you will assist WRA manager in overseeing staff, recreation activities and events
Create all ages recreation activities for the WRA facilities
- Develop, promote and implement recreation programs and services for all ages; make recommendations and implement management decisions
- Train staff and implement policies
- Respond to patrons; problem solve and advise Manager
- Setup and teardown of tables, chairs, equipment and supplies
- Coordinate facility and equipment rentals
- Monitor/inspect mini-golf course, sports court, tennis courts, children's park, lawn bowling, beach volleyball and recreation grounds for safety, security and maintenance issues. Advise
- Assist Manager and WRA Events Committee
- Assist Manager with daily cash deposits
- Hold Class 5 license
- Perform other duties as assigned
Knowledge Of
- Planning, evaluating and implementing recreation programs, services and activities
- Proper care, safety practices and rules of recreation, facility and equipment
- Cash management, accounting and record-keeping
Ability To
- Lead staff and volunteers: training, planning, organizing, scheduling
- Maintain facilities and equipment in a clean and safe manner
- Perform work as directed efficiently, effectively and safely
- Work independently, set priorities and meet deadlines
- Demonstrate strong customer service skills
- Communicate effectively in person, phone and in writing
Physical Demands
- Perform physical work for extended periods; lift, carry, push and pull
- Walking, standing, bending: related to recreation duties and sporting events
- Working outdoors and in inclement weather

**Salary**: $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
