Recreation Aide

**Reports To**:Resident Programs Manager

**Role**: Assists the Resident Programs manager in providing quality recreation and leisure programming based on the abilities, strengths, needs, interests and former lifestyle of the residents.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provides quality recreation programing meeting the resident's needs
- Assists the Resident Programs' Manger in planning and the provision of quality practice
- Uses a resident and culturally-centered approach
- Complete all necessary recreation and leisure records
- RAI MDS documentation
- Communicates promptly any concerns and issues that arise regarding residents, family members, volunteers to the Resident Programs Manager
- Understand and promotes the Residents Bill of Rights
- Participates in the interdisciplinary care planning

**Qualifications**
- Degree/Diploma through University/College in recreation/leisure studies (completed or in progress) or relevant experience
- 1-3 years experience in Long-term Care (preferred)
- Demonstrates leadership, communication, interpersonal and organizational skills, knowledge or community resources; knowledge of programs and techniques in recreation, leisure and restoration and development of same; CPR certification; computer proficiency; innovative resident-centered approach to programming; multilingual fluency an asset and a proven ability and desire to work with the elderly

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $19.51-$22.32 per hour
