RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position summary
Under the supervision of the Unit Director, the Project Manager will organize, manage, and coordinate a multidisciplinary clinical and translational research platform. The objective is to better understand how infections and patient factors contribute to clinical outcomes and antimicrobial resistance. This will be accomplished by leveraging the collection and analysis of bedside clinical and biological data using medical informatics and omics-level methods in patient samples.

General Duties
- Organize and manage multidisciplinary infection surveillance, natural history studies, and/or clinical trials on ICU-acquired infections, as well as antimicrobial resistance and stewardship.
- Manage and implement the regulatory, funding, budgetary, human resources, and infrastructure elements of the platform.
- Enhance the efficiency of the platform by implementing communication and knowledge dissemination initiatives.
- Participate in the implementation of study protocols, and optimizes organizational and operational efficiency,
- Establish priorities, ensure adherence to study timelines and quality of output, and provide timely study updates/reports,
- Act as the primary point of contact and resource person for all principal investigators, resolve problems and instruct others,
- Ensure compliance with clinical research and safety regulations in the clinical and laboratory settings,
- Assist with the creation of a centralized clinical information and biological sample database, maintain study records and ensure proper storage of data in the centralized database, and oversee data collection with collaborators,
- Maintain strong working relationships with group members, manage communication channels between research teams, and coordinate central training,
- Oversee unit members (research technicians, Ph.D. students, MSc students, undergraduate students, and medical students performing research electives and medical residents) participating in studies,
- Ensure appropriate inventory and purchase equipment and material,
- Perform other duties as required or assigned by the Director.

- Bachelor's Degree Field of Study: Clinical Investigations/Translational medicine
- Other education considered an asset for this position: Master’s or Ph.D. preferred
- Work Experience: 1-2 years

- Excellent French and English, spoken and written,
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
- Ability to work independently or with teams with minimum supervision,

Additional information

**Status**: Temporary, full time (35-hour workweek) 1 year renewable contract

**Pay Scale**: Commensurate with education and experience

**Work Shift**: Monday to Friday 8:30 - 4:30.

**Work Site**: Glen
