**Position Higlights**

Reporting directly to the VP, Customer Experience and Public Affairs (CEPA), the Director, Marketing & Communications is accountable for leading the development and implementation of a cohesive and integrated corporate-wide strategy and approach to brand and external communications. This role is critical in steering and innovatively leading various complex and diverse marketing and communications department dedicated to the day-to-day work of achieving the goals of their strategy.

In this role you’ll be responsible for:

- Designing and overseeing the delivery of an organization wide marketing and communications strategy, ensuring clear understanding and alignment with ICBC business goals and objectives.
- Overseeing effective and consistent marketing and communications to customers and employees that align with ICBC’s brand voice and reflect the values of being collaborative, supportive, straightforward, and knowledgeable.
- Directing ICBC’s internal and external narrative, including ensuring an organizational view to support corporate key messages and guide ICBC’s brand story.
- Developing and directing the short
- and long-term strategic framework, goals and plans of the department.
- Developing ICBC’s brand governance and standards; ensuring the implementation and use of them is consistently followed across the organization.
- Providing recommendations and strategic advice to executive and board on overall brand perception and responsible functions, including media/issues, social media, and marketing and communications.
- Continually seeking new opportunities and ways to enhance and transform marketing and communications functions and processes at ICBC.
- Stewarding ICBC’s story and public dialogue through external communications while managing ICBC’s reputation through strong media relations and issues management.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with key media and government communications contacts; ensuring integration of proactive media relations with broader campaign.
- Directing the development and delivery of an enhanced digital and social media strategy; ensuring effective measurements are in place to increase ICBC’s presence and use of social and digital media; and ensuring alignment of social and digital content with broader campaigns.
- Developing and directing the implementation and delivery of the employee communications strategy, ensuring the right channels are being used to reach employees effectively.

**Position Requirements**

To be successful in this role, you will bring the following skills and experience:

- 10-15 years’ experience at a senior level, leading teams with varying functions in a large, complex organization or Crown corporation, with a focus on communications, media relations, marketing, public relations, or related field.
- Expertise in brand and marketing strategy.
- Experience in developing and influencing culture, instilling change, and influencing and providing recommendations on high level business decisions.
- Demonstrated success working closely executive and other leaders across lines of business, influencing, and collaboration in cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication skills, able to inspire and motivate employees as well as persuade and influence audiences.
- Exceptional understanding of the broader external landscape including public perception, media, government, and employee opinion.
- Demonstrated ability to engage, advocate and influence multiple internal/external stakeholders.
- Skilled people leader who can develop and engage a highly effective team of public affairs professionals.
- Experience working with the Crown and/or in a Crown corporation an asset.

Employing a hybrid working model, this role combines on-site in office work with work from home flexibility.
