Barrie, Canada Cornerstone to Recovery Full time

Cornerstone to Recovery has recently opened its new women’s residential recovery facility in Barrie. We are looking for one full time (salary with benefits) qualified counsellor to staff the residence. Note that these jobs require 24 hour overnight shifts (12 working and 12 resting hours).

**Job Eligibility**:

- Lived experience with addiction and 12 step programs is required.
- Relevant degree or diploma in addictions, mental health and/or social service work or a related field with a recognized credentialing body is required. Those working towards certification, and who have begun the process, may also be considered.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience working in the field of mental health addictions is required.
- Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
- Additional training in crisis and suicide intervention, human trafficking and trauma are an asset.
- Shift work and some weekends are involved.

**Program Facilitation**:

- Provide all program facilitation including but not limited to daily Big Book & Stage II Recovery groups, bi-weekly 1-on-1 counselling session, daily reflections, and resident meetings.
- Organize and oversee all programs that the residents participate in, including but not limited to social events, 12 step meetings and groups put on by volunteers.
- Monitor all residents’ progress and treatment plan adherence and intervene as required.
- Provide conflict resolution as required.

**M3 Facilitation**:

- Conduct m3 as required 2x a week in collaboration with the Residential Manager
- Provide referrals, service navigation support and housing / job / mental health supports to residents in m3.

**Residential Daily Operations**:

- Respond to all residential treatment inquiries and questions as they arise.
- Complete all assessments and intakes and make recommendations to the Director of Women’s Residential Programs regarding their suitability and admissions.
- Manage the admissions board.
- Respond to all client needs and crises as they arise when on duty.
- Manage all client requests for overnights, weekend visits and technology access.
- Complete the weekly grocery shop.
- Supervise the weekly division of residents’ duties and the completion of their tasks.
- Supervise the daily cleaning of the Cornerstone Club and ensure all residents have a task and are completing it as required.
- Maintain the safety and security of residents.
- Report all maintenance issues at the Women’s Residential Facility to the Director of Women’s Residential Programs.
- Write letters for current residents and alumni as requested (*only if certified).

**Documentation and Report Generation**:

- Maintain all files including client and administration files in an orderly fashion in accordance with confidentiality policy.
- Complete all required documentation including but not limited to the 1-on-1 counselling session notes and daily log books in accordance with confidentiality policy and procedures.
- Write letters for current residents and alumni as requested (*only if certified).
- Document all incidents and have them reported to the Director of Women’s Residential Programs.

**Fundraising Event Planning and Execution**:

- Manage residents before, during and after fundraising events as directed.
- Volunteer at bingo.
