**About Landmark East School**

Landmark East is an independent co-ed day and boarding school for students with learning differences located in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, a small university town nestled in the Annapolis Valley. The student base is diverse with learners who have been diagnosed with a learning difference such as Attention Deficit Disorder, Dyslexia, Auditory Processing Disorder, etc. that can make learning challenging in a traditional school setting. **Position Summary**:
As the overnight security guard, you are responsible for monitoring the overnight care and security of the campus, school property and boarding students on Friday and Saturday evenings from 10:30PM to 9:00AM.

**Position Requirements**:
General Responsibilities:

- To observe and identify potential security and safety risks or undesirable conditions on campus
- To answer and deal with any telephone calls during the night
- To conduct periodic internal security patrols of the two residences including checking that doors and windows are secure. The school’s Closed Caption TV system will be available to assist in securing the premises
- To ensure the main building (Academic Centre) is secured - windows closed and all exterior doors locked
- To report any security or emergency issues to 911 as necessary and inform on-call personnel
- To assist students as necessary in the event of illness, injury or medical emergency
- To maintain a log book of all incidents
- To perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Head of School from time to time
