Position Responsibilities

Spectrum is looking to hire a hands-on controller to lead the Finance Department. The incumbent will start working closely with the retiring Controller for a period of 6 months to learn the systems and processes. After which the retiring Controller will stay on with the Company as a Consultant and the incumbent will transition into a senior role dependent of his or her performance and professional progression. Eventually, reporting to the President and the US Parent Finance team, the incumbent’s responsibilities would include the followings:

- Create, prepare, and present month end financial reporting
- Create, prepare, and present Year end closing and coordination of year end audit
- Create, and prepare monthly HST, QST filling and any other statutory filings
- Cash and treasury management
- US parent company monthly reporting requirement
- Manage AP AR and ensure balances to General Ledger
- Ad-hoc sales reporting and cost analysis using Crystal Reports and/or Excel techniques
- Participates in strategic planning and annual business planning activities.
- Works with the executive team to create the organization’s annual budget and quarterly rolling forecast.
- Coordinates monthly executive meetings to discuss current and projected needs of the organization and presents reports on YTD expenditures, adjusted forecasts, and progress towards KPIs.
- Work closely with external IT consultants to ensure efficient, effective and adequate IT needs for staff and the company’s operating systems.
- Gain complete understanding of the company’s ERP system to provide immediate help to staff when needed, as well as providing advices towards system upgrades and developments

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, commerce, business administration, or related field.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in an accounting/finance leadership role.
- Professional accounting designation. CPA is not mandatory.
- Experience using ERP (Cloud based software) is an asset.
- Experience using Crystal reporting software is important
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Experience with Office365, including Teams and SharePoint, considered an asset.
- Advance Microsoft Excel skills
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, as well as strong detail orientation, organizational and management abilities, is required.
- Excellent time management with the ability to multi-task.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the proven ability to plan, develop and execute creative approaches to complex financial issues.
- Experience in strategic planning and execution.
- Demonstrated ability to manage staff and team performance effectively.
- Able to lead and support organizational change.
- Able to handle high volumes and multiple priorities in a professional, courteous manner while meeting strict deadlines.
- Willingness and flexibility to occasionally work outside of normal business hours during peak periods, when required.
- High standards of ethics and confidentiality with proven ability to maintain sensitive information and exhibit tact, diplomacy, and good judgment.
- Other duties may be assigned.

**Salary**: $75,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
