Position Overview:
**Key duties and responsibilities**:

- Coordinate all general inquiries and questions related to the planning function (e.g. plan review procedures) to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Assist the Manager of Development Planning and the Development Planners on complicated development matters and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Act as expert witness at the Ontario Land Tribunal and other tribunals, as required.
- Facilitate and support public consultation.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

**Qualifications and requirements**:

- Membership or eligibility for membership in the Ontario Professional Planner’s Institute (OPPI) and the Canadian Institute of Planning (CIP).
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Power Point).
- Excellent leadership and negotiation skills with the ability to set priorities, solve problems, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of staff, stakeholders, the media and the general public.
- Ability to prepare presentations and present to committees and tribunals.
- Ability to provide a solution oriented, customer service approach using good judgement, creativity and strategic thinking.
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Experience in computer aided drafting and modeling (i.e. AutoCAD, SketchUp), and AMANDA is an asset.
- Experience at the Ontario Land Tribunal or other tribunals is an asset.

**Hours of work**:
35 hours per week Monday to Friday between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm. Occasional evening work would be required to attend meetings. This position is eligible for hybrid and flexible work arrangement options (as per current corporate policy).

**Pay/Salary**:
CUPE 973 Grade 11: $43.88-$53.89 per hour
