POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This Team Lead position is central to the success of Stella’s Place and an exciting opportunity to contribute to our unique and integrative clinical programs. Our program include DBT Skills, DBT BIPOC, Drop-In counseling, individual psychotherapy sessions,
Our groups are facilitated by highly skilled clinicians and peer ambassadors.

The role is responsible for supporting and leading a team of clinicians as well as providing individual and group counseling sessions to program participants. This role involves administrative, evaluation and program development experience.

Our clinicians work in a collaborative way with young adults with lived experience, as well as others (family members, other providers, educators, etc.) who have rich knowledge to offer through participatory action research/ codesign. We aim to create a culture and space that young adults can feel validated, seen and represented in.

As a Stella’s Place employee you will be expected to actively engage on committees, support agency wide events, research activities, support the Development Team with speaking engagements and activities and build our organizational culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Lead responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
- Support clinical team members to ensure they have the required resources to complete their duties accurately, efficiently, and timely
- Supervise and coordinate Masters Level students delivering clinical programs
- Conduct assessments and provide individual counselling
- Assist with hiring and onboarding process for new clinicians
- Facilitate groups with Peer Ambassadors utilizing a co-design process
- Support with the development and operation of the clinical placement student program
- Participate in consultation with the Clinical Team and Access Team
- Participate in program development and evaluation process
- Experience communicating within a multidisciplinary team
- Prepare electronic clinical assessments and progress notes
- Establish and maintain productive working relationships with other community-based organizations
- Contribute to the use of quality, health, client satisfaction and outcome measures for the program, ensure continuous quality improvement is maintained
- Participate in educational activities and initiatives to enhance the skill, experience, and knowledge of Stella’s Place staff
- Delegate tasks and set deadlines
- Discover training needs and provide coaching
- Listen to team members’ feedback and resolve challenges or conflicts
- Encourage innovation, creativity and risk-taking

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

- Masters degree in psychology, social work or Counseling Psychology and registration with a respective College (e.g. College of Registered
Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), Ontario College of Social Workers and
Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW), or College of Psychologists of Ontario
(CPO) combined with 3-5 years of post-graduate direct clinical experience in a mental health treatment setting.
- Knowledge of and desire to learn and deliver DBT Skills and DBT individual support, ACT and other psychotherapy modalities
- 3+ years providing clinical services to young adults 16 - 29 years of age living with complex mental health and psychosocial challenges
- Strong administrative and leadership skills to support the clinical team in meeting program goals
- Experience working in community mental health settings with young adults
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse populations, utilizing culturally responsive, trauma-informed, anti-racist and anti-oppressive approaches
- Ability to work independently and demonstrated experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team such as with clinicians, clinical consultants, peer support workers, psychiatrists, and primary care providers.
- Experience with using Client Information Management Systems, Personal Health
Record management and Health Information Custodian requirements
- Strong clinical foundation, including skills/knowledge related to;
- unique developmental issues of transition-aged young adults
- holistic health (e.g., fitness, nutrition, primary health, somatics and spirituality)
