Agriculture Service Manager

For over 60 years, Nelson Motors and Equipment has been a John Deere agriculture dealership taking care of customers and employees in the communities surrounding Avonlea, Estevan, Oxbow, Radville, and Redvers. We are looking for a dynamic, personable **Service Manage**r to lead the Avonlea Service shop. We are community minded and family oriented and are looking for the right professional to join our team and our community.

The **Agriculture** **Service Manager** role is an opportunity for you to join an experienced team and to contribute to the overall success of the dealership. As head of the Avonlea service department, you will:

- Direct, coach, mentor, and delegate to 13 department service staff; effectively engaging and inspiring exceptional work
- Oversee all planning, administration, and general department management duties
- Approve service/work orders; ensuring internal accountability and external customer satisfaction
- Ensure the health, safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment is maintained at the highest level
- Identify and assess customers' needs to achieve satisfaction
- Proactively conduct customer outreach to build relationships and secure work
- Monitor and contribute to profitable service labor sales and exercise disciplined expense control.

**Required Qualifications**:

- Leadership and time-management skills supported by 3+ years' in a supervisory role
- Solid knowledge of technical aspects of agriculture and broad-acre farm equipment
- Strong understanding of labor and bill out rates from service department, as well as piece ranking reports, asset turnover and inventory control
- Strong computer and typing skills including Microsoft Office 365 and Service Advisor as strong assets
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends
- Valid driver's license
- Willingness to live in the community or commute within a 50 kilometer radius
- A strong customer focus
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Understanding of dealership financials
- Level-headed and working for the greater good of the team and business

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Experience with John Deere agriculture equipment
- Journeyperson trade a strong asset; either Agriculture Equipment Technician or Heavy Equipment Technician
- 5+ years' in an agriculture service department (or applicable experience)
