Custodian

**Job Summary**

**Duties**
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, window cleaning and vacuuming floors.
- Maintain cleanliness of restrooms, office, sanctuary and common areas by regularly sanitizing surfaces and replenishing supplies.
- Conduct facilities maintenance tasks such as minor repairs and reporting larger maintenance issues to management.
- Set up and take down of tables and chairs for functions in the church.
- Ensure proper disposal of waste and recycling materials in accordance with company policies.
- Monitor cleaning supplies inventory and request replenishment as needed.
- Snow shovelling of sidewalks and entrance ways
- Follow safety protocols to maintain a hazard-free environment for staff and visitors.
- Assist with special cleaning projects as assigned by management.

**Skills**
- Strong knowledge of commercial cleaning techniques and equipment.
- Ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness in various settings.
- Familiarity with facilities maintenance practices is preferred.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Good communication skills to interact with staff and management effectively.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 8 - 10 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Port Dover, ON N0A 1N0: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Cleaning: 1 year (preferred)
- janitorial: 1 year (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (preferred)
