**Schedule**: Full time - Monday to Friday - 40 hours work week. Overtime needed as per business needs and training objectives.

**Reports to**: Senior Rail Supervisor

**Compensation**: $57,915 - $68,000 per annum

The Canada base salary range for this position is $57,915 - $68,000 per annum+ bonus + benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. More specific salary ranges for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process. Please note that the compensation details reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, benefits, pension contributions and/or additional incentives.

**About this Role and About You**

The incumbent will provide support for Chemtrade business units through effective and cost efficient coordination of the Tank/Hopper (rail) car fleets to shipping locations, customers and repair facilities. This includes ensuring business unit obligations for timely delivery of rail volumes across Chemtrade’s North American business lines are met, and also includes effective management of both loaded/empty railcars ensuring optimal cost/fleet savings. The Fleet Coordinator will work in conjunction with, Customer Service Group to identify rail movement delays and act appropriately to ensure product is delivered to customers in a timely manner, or that customers are notified of pending delays. The Fleet Coordinator will escalate within Chemtrade and Railway Management as required to achieve desired results. The incumbent will also identify and implement cost saving/efficiency improvements and strategies.

**Qualifications**

Knowledge
- College or University degree in Supply Chain, Transportation, Business or related field required.
- Minimum 5 years relevant experience required

Competencies
- In depth knowledge of Chemtrade’ Supply Chain network
- Intermediate Working knowledge of railways & technical knowledge of railcars
- Ability to multitask and prioritize is essential. Demonstrable strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SAP preferred.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills; strong team player
- Occasional off-hours and weekend support may be required.

**Responsibilities**
- Participate in various continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs through improving transit times, reducing storage, diversion & empty car repositioning movement costs. Involves working with/influencing railways, terminals, storage facilities and customers as required.
- Monitors/expedites empty/loaded railcars of assigned fleets utilizing Geometrix/Railway Websites/Railinc to ensure timely deliveries to customers and efficient return of empty railcars to loading origins to achieve a seamless flow of equipment.
- Communicates with other Business functions, 3rd parties and service suppliers regarding railcar and carrier service issues.
- Daily exchange with supply locations (including 3rd party locations) regarding fleet status affecting the ability to meet required schedules.
- Communicate delays, service issues or revised customer ETA’s to Product Coordinators and CSR’s.
- Main point of contact for Chemtrade with Railroad Customer Service personnel regarding assigned railcar fleet service issues and/or delays.
- Ensures timely movement of railcars to/from vendor repair shops working closely with the Equipment Services Coordinator.
- Reviews monthly demurrage/storage/accessorial invoices to validate accuracy, ensure timely payment and/or dispute and also financial coding of invoices.
- Reports on the cost effects of diversions and abnormal rail freight.
- Follows up with Customer Service or 3rd party sites on excessive car delays and acts appropriately.
