**Job Overview - Marketing & Communications Summer Intern**

The B.C. Wildlife Federation’s Marketing, Communications team is looking for a driven, energetic, outdoor enthusiast with a career trajectory in Marketing and Communications to join our teams as a 4-month Marketing and Communications Intern.

The Marketing and Communications Intern will be immersed in all areas of the department, supporting projects ranging from social media and public relations to fund generation and marketing strategy. Our dynamic and highly collaborative approach to teamwork creates significant opportunities for collaborative learning. The role will provide the opportunity to work on marketing plans, content creation, writing, and advertising.

**Core Responsibilities**
- Marketing:_
- Research, create, and write marketing content to various BCWF marketing channels, including videos, newsletters, print publications, social media posts, and website content
- Using social media management and monitoring tools, track and analyze communications efforts for efficiency, reach, and engagement

Attend events, including trade shows, member events, and educational courses
- Using member database tools, coordinate, edit and contribute content for membership e-newsletters
- Update website regularly and as needed for projects, campaigns and events
- Assist in creating SMART goals and setting measurable key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and engage the public’s awareness of BCWF
- Contribute to various marketing strategies, action plans, projects, campaigns and events
- Contribute to various membership and volunteer recruitment & retention strategies, action plans, projects, campaigns and events
- External Communications & Media:_
- Contribute content to various external communications mediums including briefing notes, press releases and advocacy campaigns
- Assist in representing and projecting BCWF’s voice and values
- Assist in preparing key messages and communications plans for emerging issues, initiatives and campaigns
- Support departmental project leads as needed
- Internal Communications:_
- Support development and evaluation of communications strategies and plans
- Assemble briefings and reports for project teams and meetings
- Support department project leads as needed

**Competencies and Skills**

**Requirements**:
Must be 15-30 years of age (Due to funding requirements)
Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Act; and have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment, and be eligible to work in B.C.
Access to vehicle is an asset (but not required)
- Education_:

- Must be pursuing, or have obtained, a diploma or degree in a relevant field (e.g., Communications, Business, Marketing, Environmental Science etc.)
- Other fields are welcome but please be advised we may inquire how it is relevant to this position. A combination of work experience and education will be considered for this role.
