**Job Summary**:
The Master Planner is responsible for maintaining customer contact as it relates to production and customer requirements.
**Minimum Requirements**:
- Community College diploma in Materials or Supply Chain Management
- Five (5) years’ experience in Materials Planning role in an automotive JIT environment, preferably with extensive OEM Service Parts Planning
- Knowledge of using an ERP system; preferably CMS
- Excellent customer relations skills
- Strong working knowledge of customer based computer systems (ie. SMART, GM Supply Power, DDL, SUPER G)
- Ability to multi task
- Ability to uphold confidentiality
- Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to work overtime to meet customer needs
**Job Duties and Responsibilities**:
- Plans and coordinates production activities as it relates to Materials including:
- Maintains finished goods inventory level
- Schedules production to maximize efficiency and reduce overtime
- Creates detailed production schedules
- Recommends action plans when required
- Recommends overtime when required
- Customer contact for releases and shipments:
- Reviews EDI and manual requirements from the customer
- Creates load schedules for shipments based on customer EDI
- Maintains the customer/supplier relationship for materials related activities
- Communicates customer schedules and forecasts to management for manpower planning, financial planning, and capacity planning
- Monitors movement of empty shipping racks to ensure production numbers are met and follows up with affected parties to ensure a steady flow
- Reviews and monitors inventory transactions in CMS and initiates inventory adjustments if required.
- Participate in root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies to maintain inventory accuracy and financial records.
- Resolves supply chain constraints to ensure internal and external customers are satisfied.
- Develops capacity plans and long term schedules to maximize efficiency
- Creates and maintains operation procedures and work instructions
- Communicates to all levels of management within Modatek (Team Leader to General Manager)
- Monitors and tracks customer delivery performance as it relates to Materials Management; develops action plans for ratings below 100%
- Utilizes customer portals to answer problem reports, shipping violations, and update any specific requirements
- Communicates engineering breakpoints to the customer and coordinates the shipment of old and new level material
- Coordinates engineering change build schedules with Production and Engineering departments to satisfy customer timing
- Reviews and updates production plans in ERP system (CMS)
- Reviews item master, BOM, and routings in CMS to ensure accuracy of planning parameters
- Participate in the completion of any customer specific assessment annually
- Practices and promotes continuous improvements of materials processes and seeks cost reduction opportunities.
- Provides direction and advise to Materials Planners as a senior member of the team
- Works as part of a team for new program launches
- Supports year end, quarterly, and daily inventory counts to ensure system and financial accuracy
- Follows and complies with all Operational Procedures and Policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environment programs (i.e. IATF 16949, ISO14001)

- Performs other duties as required
**Division Description**:
Located in Milton, Ontario, Modatek Systems is a division of Magna International. At Modatek, our dedicated team produce chassis systems utilizing innovative hydroforming, automated welding, and electrostatic coating processes within a large, safety-focused facility.
