**The Role: Lean Co-op**

**Who are you?**

This will take a commitment to be hands-on, participate in, and encourage engagement in continuous improvement activities.

**Customers**:

- R&D VP
- R&D Program Manager
- EH&S

**Suppliers**:

- R&D Program manager
- Vision, Goals and Objectives
- R&D Lean Coordinator
- Mentoring & coaching
- EH&S Team

**Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities**:

- Systematically improve R&D processes under the guidance of the Lean Coordinator.
- Working on process activities at the R&D that include fixture design, Poke Yoke, line mapping, process layouts, value stream mapping, and Lean implementations.
- Recommend and reinforce to implement changes to process procedures and modifications to improve the safety, efficiency, & yield of the R&D processes.
- Collaborate with the R&D employees on Lean tools/principles and implementation of improvements.
- Helping team to exercises on Lean concepts such as:

- The 8 wastes
- 5s
- One-Piece-Flow exercises
- Value-added / non-value-added activity
- Working and assisting with red-tagging events.
- Support the Kaizen Continuous Improvement program, and track the implementation of the Kaizen Ideas.

**Key Qualifications**:

- Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- Good understanding and experience in Lean manufacturing principles, methodologies, and tools.
- Proficiency in using AutoCAD or similar software for creating and modifying technical drawings and layouts.
- Knowledge of 5's methodology and experience implementing and sustaining 5's practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify process improvement opportunities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Attitude: Must naturally espouse Svante values and believe in our Goals and Objectives.
