**About us**

Set on 200 acres of beautiful farmland just south of the Ottawa airport, Waupoos Family Farm’s motto is “Pray, Work, Play”. Summer staff will have the opportunity to inspire and work closely with the low-income families who vacation at Waupoos.

The vacation camp counsellor enjoys variety and teamwork. They work alongside the program coordinator, groundskeeper, and farm management team to make Waupoos a safe, hospitable, and fun place They help with groundskeeping and cleaning, lead activities, and participate alongside the children. They set the tone at Waupoos. They interact intentionally with the children and families - talking and playing with them. They enjoy working with a diverse demographic and are flexible. They resonate with Waupoos’ mission and are passionate about working with families from challenging backgrounds. They will also oversee and coordinate the day volunteers during the summer.
- Be organized, friendly and be able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Lead recreational and other activities for visiting families.
- Be welcoming and interacting with guests.
- Work as part of a staff team to accomplish weekly cottage and lodge cleaning and laundry.

**Application Deadline: March 27, 2024**
- Open to youth 16 -30 years of age; must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident (funding requirement)
- Current certification in First Aid, CPR-C & AED is required (or willing to obtain before starting employment)
- **Interested applicants will need to submit their resume and a cover letter outlining how they meet the job requirements.**:

- Bilingualism is considered an asset (English, French, etc.)
- Must have own transportation; Waupoos is not located on any OC Transpo bus routes
- Approximately 30-40 hours/week for 8-9 consecutive weeks; June 24 - August 31, 2024. Actual dates/hours are dependent upon funding.
- Workweek: Tuesday to Saturday

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract, Seasonal
Contract length: 8-9 weeks

**Salary**: $16.55 per hour

Expected hours: 30 - 40 per week

Schedule:

- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Work Location: In person
