Overview of the Role

This position is primarily responsible for the movement of trailers in the Saputo Edmonton yard. And as needed, shuttle trailers between the Edmonton Main & the Creit Warehouse and picking up or delivering trailers to and from Logoplaste.

How you will make contributions that matter:
- Yard checks and verifications- Shunting company and third-party carrier’s trailers into the case dock and load outdoors- Shunting of the production trailers- Ensures accurate and timely loading/unloading of trucks according to dock loading schedule- Ensures case unloading is followed by load out schedule and bring any delays forward to the Supervisor- Shuttle trailers between the Edmonton Main & the Creit Warehouse as needed- Picking up or delivering trailers to and from Logoplaste- Clean and sanitize shunt truck before and after each use- Ensure that all work is performed safely while following OH&S, WCB, and Company regulations and procedures- Ensures that all HACCP requirements and policies are implemented and followed- Performs other related duties as required.

You are best suited for the role if you have the following qualifications:
- Class 1 driver’s license required with the ability to operate with a high degree of safety and precision- More than 3 years of Class 1 experience- Knowledge of refrigeration equipment- Experience operating forklifts, power jacks, etc. are assets- Attention to detail and numerical accuracy - some mathematical skills required- Excellent attendance and work record- Ensure that all work is performed safely while following OH&S, WCB, and Company regulations and procedures- Physical capacity to perform medium to heavy lifting- Membership in Unifor Union of Canada, Local 445 (or must join within 30 days).- Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.- Ability to work independently.- Reliability in Attendance- Other duties as required
